Khiel Coppin

Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn: NYPD officers shot 20 bullets at Khiel Coppin, an 18 year old young man with a psychological disability, striking him eight times. The officer involved say they thought Khiel was holding a gun. After the police ceased fire, they found the object he was holding was a hairbrush. A grand jury has never been convened in this case and no officers were ever charged.
